The Workshop – Working Group Meeting on ‘Practical Steps and Recommendations on Increasing Effectiveness of International Technical Assistance in Belarus’, on 31 October 2014 had the following purposes:
- to discuss and finalise the Report of the Lithuanian Study Tour, as agreed with the 23 participants at the end of the mission;
- to discuss with the participants the results of the Round Table and the Conference on 14-10-2014 and –possibly- to draft / finalise their Recommendations
- to analyse and discuss in the first reading a document on ‘Approaches and Practical Steps on Increasing Effectiveness of Development Assistance in Other Countries’, prepared by the project. The latter includes many new ideas, implementation of which would greatly change the practices of ITA in Belarus. However, since they are new and different from existing Belarusian practices, their benefits need to be explained and then – after discussion – spread amongst stakeholders. With this last item the Workshop had a strong training character also.
The Workshop was organised by the CDFB project in close cooperation with the NCU and with most active participation of the latter.
