On October, 14 at "Renaissance" Hotel already two big events in terms of EU CDFB project took place.
More than 100 people participated in these events: representatives of Republican bodies of state administration, regional authorities, EU Delegation to Belarus, foreign Embassies and international organizations, international technical assistance projects, NGOs, and other invited persons.
The events started with the Round table “Enhancing effectiveness of international technical assistance in Belarus” under which practical features of the existing ITA coordination framework in Belarus were analyzed as well as the range of the most problematic issues related to ITA coordination which are faced by implementers of EU-funded projects were outlined.
During the Round table there were made presentations by Mr Ivan Belchik – Head of the department for cooperation with international organizations and technical assistance coordination of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, Mr Aleksei Vavokhin – Project manager of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Dr Janos Zakonyi – Team leader of the CDFB project in Belarus, Mr Andrei Pinigin – CDFB project expert.
At the beginning of the Round table the participants were given an opportunity to present in written form any questions they had, during the Round table they were given corresponding answers. The presentations contained analyzed results of the questionnaire, which was previously distributed by the Ministry of Economy to more than 50 organizations dealing with ITA in Belarus. The answers to the questionnaire were related to wide range of issues concerning Aid effectiveness, implementation of Paris Declaration principles in Belarus etc. The results of the Round table allowed to determine the areas of activities in the sphere of ITA regulation system improvement in Belarus.
After the lunch break there was held a conference “Main tasks and perspectives of EU-Belarus cooperation in the field of international technical assistance in 2014-2020”. Under the conference a strategic vision from the sides of both EU and the representatives of public authorities was presented in relation to further cooperation in ITA sphere in the mid-term perspective as well as steps necessary for successful joint implementation of programmes and projects were indicated.
The conference was started with the welcoming words of Mr Anton Kudasov – deputy Minister of Economy, Mrs Maira Mora – Ambassador, Head of EU Delegation to Belarus and Mr Denis Sidorenko – Head of European cooperation department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Afterwards there were made presentations by Dr Janos Zakonyi, Mr Ian Grant – senior CDFB project experts, Mr Frederik Coene – Head of Operations section of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Mr Ivan Belchik.
In his presentation Dr Zakoniy, who was also a moderator of the conference, presented the main aims and objectives of the CDFB project, he also made a short movie, which demonstrated implemented events and achieved under the project results. Mr Grant commented on the main issues of aid effectiveness enhance from the EU point of view, he pointed out the importance of international experience in this sphere and also stated, that the results of the Round table and the Conference would be implemented by the CDFB project upon elaboration of corresponding proposals and recommendations on improvement of the situation in the sphere of ITA coordination in Belarus. Mr Coene was speaking about the plans and aims of the new programming period 2014-2020, its peculiarities and possible changes. Mr Sidorenko not only presented his point of view regarding the aid effectiveness enhance and improvement of EU-Belarus cooperation and dialogues, but also commented on the presentations of other speakers.
The events ended with a reception, during which the participants were given presents according to the results of the quiz, organized in the course of the Round table and the Conference.
