Seminar "Practical steps and recommendations for international technical assistance effectiveness in Belarus" took place in Minsk

On October 31, 2014 at "Crowne Plaza" Hotel CDFB Project together with the National Coordinating Unit organized a Seminar "Practical steps and recommendations for international technical assistance effectiveness in Belarus". Among the participants of the Seminar there were representatives of the Republican bodies of State administration (Ministries, Regional executive committees), NGOs and ITA projects in Belarus.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech of Dr Janos Zakonyi – CDFB Project Team Leader, who also acted as a moderator of the Seminar.

The presentations were made by:  Ms Dina Goncharova – Director executive of the National Coordinating Unit, who told about the main role of the NCU in the system of ITA coordination in Belarus; Dr Janos Zakonyi - CDFB Project Team Leader, who told about practical steps and recommendations on increasing effectiveness of ITA on the basis of CDFB Expert’s Mission Report of Mr Ian Grant; Mr Veaceslav Scobioala - CDFB Project Key expert and short-term Project expert – Mr Andrei Pinigin.

Among other issues for discussion were: the necessity to synchronize partner development strategy in the sphere of ITA with the strategies of national development; integration of ITA into the system of governmental planning; information activity and reporting under projects; optimization of approval procedures for ITA programmes and projects to increase their implementation effectiveness and a number of other related issues.

At the end of the Seminar the participants discussed the results of the Round Table and the Conference organized on October 14, 2014 and the Lithuanian Study Tour.
