The EU Migration Mission will pay a working visit to Belarus on 8 September, BelTA learnt from the information and public relations department of the Belarusian Interior Ministry.
The mission includes representatives of the External Relations Directorate General of the European Commission, the Directorate General for Justice, Freedom and Security and migration experts from law enforcement and other state-run agencies of Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Finland, Portugal, Poland, Germany and the Baltic states.
The Belarusian side will be represented by Deputy Minister, Head of the Public Security Police Yevgeny Poluden, Head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration Alexei Begun and experts in migration and international cooperation.
The participants of the meeting will discuss joint efforts to regulate migration, sheltering, readmission and border control.
The members of the EU mission will hold meetings with representatives of other ministries and bodies of Belarus, international organizations and NGOs.
At the conclusion of the visit a Joint Statement is to be adopted. The document will identify the further steps in regulating migration.
